Lt. Robert H. Dee, Jr.'s Diary
Co-Pilot, 601st Squadron

Dee's Mission No.
6

4 December 1944
Target:
Soest, Germany

No.6
December 4, 1944

The target was Soest. We carried 10X500 G.P.’s (General Purpose) bombs. We pulled 2,400 and 2,500 RPM’s all the way, and dragged behind at that. The element lead had an engine go out, so he dumped his bombs. Our togglier dumped his bombs too, so we came-all that way for nothing. I flew with my crew. No flak or fighters.

Editor's Note: "My Crew" refers to the Byron Magness Crew.
