Lt. Robert H. Dee, Jr.'s Diary
Co-Pilot, 601st Squadron

Dee's Mission No.
25

21 February 1945
Target:
Marshalling Yard, Nurnburg, Germany

No. 25
Feb. 21, 1945

The target was Nurenburg. The MPI was the marshalling yard in the center of the city. Near Frankfurt we got moderate accurate flak; our #4 oil cooler was hit, so we feathered it. No.1 was running away and #3 was running rough. We dropped down to 3,000 ft. and got way behind. We dropped our bombs and then cut short and headed back with Bassingbourn. We landed before our formation.

Editor's Note:

  1. The official 398th target was Nurnburg, Germany
