  5. When written:
    Written after each mission between 9 November 1944 to 21 March 1945. Bob said "It  was handwritten in England. No matter how tired I was, I would write something in it every night after a mission. I brought it home with me." Years later Bob's wife, typed it.

    In 2003 Marty Dee transcribed the typed version of the Robert H. Dee, Jr. Diary to electronic text for his family web page. In March 2004, Marty contacted Wally Blackwell of the 398th Memorial Association and arrangements were made to incorporate the electronically transcribed diary on the 398th Web Pages.
