Target: Railroad Bridge, Germersheim, Germany

January 13, 1945

Today we flew our nineteenth mission. We bombed the railroad bridge at Germershiem. The whole 8th Air Force seemed to be after the bridge on the Rhine. The flak was very heavy and accurate. We bombed from twenty-five thousand. On oxygen four hours. We didn’t get any holes and it’s beyond me how we didn’t. The weather on return today was so bad that the ceiling was one hundred feet.
