May 9, 1944
Was up at 0100 and our target for today was St. Dizier, France. Takeoff was 0545. Flew #2 in the lead element. Dropped 32 – 100 lb. G.P. bombs. Hit some flak on the way in. It was a beautiful day for bombing. Did a neat job on the airfield there. I saw the bombs hit the runway and hangers. Had P-38 escort. 4 hours on oxygen. Landed at 1200. Had a few flak holes. 6 hrs. 15 min. combat time.

MISSION # 3 COMPLETED.
