T/Sgt. Armand Fugge's Diary
Engineer/Top Turret Gunner 600th Squadron

16 June to 17 June 1944
Non Mission Day

June 16, 1944
Got up at noon. Started to make a plastic cross for Peg. The weather is bad so no mission is scheduled for today but that doesn’t bother me any. I’ve had enough.

June 17, 1944
Got up at 0400. Briefed at 0200 and our target was a railroad bridge at Amiens, France. The mission was scrubbed at 0400. The Jerries sent rocket bombs over by the dozens so we were alerted most of the night. Slept most of the day. Worked on the plexiglass cross I’m making for Peg.
