Green Mission No. 3

**13 September 1944**
**Target** **Lutzkendorf, Germany**
Date: September 13, 1944 Mission: Lutzkendorf, Germany We bombed a synthetic oil refinery at 28,000 feet. We encountered moderate flak, not accurate. The temperature was –42 degrees. We had no battle damage. We were airborne 9 hours, on oxygen 3-1/2 hours. It was a good mission. We got over our being so nervous. Excellent bomb strike was reported, and we did not lose any planes from our formation.
