September 19, 1944
Mission: Hamm, Germany We bombed the greatest marshalling yards in Germany at 27,000 feet to gum up the transportation for our own ground troops benefit. The temperature was - 48 degrees. We bombed visually with very good results on the bomb strike. Surprisingly there was no flak; therefore no battle damage was encountered. We were on oxygen for 2 hours. Another milk run was to our credit. |
