February 1, 1945
Mission: Mannheim, same target as above to hit that bridge. We bombed at 22,000 feet. We encountered light, inaccurate flak. The temperature was 46 degrees. We were airborne 8 hours and 50 minutes. It was not like the days in September. It was a milk run compared to the first raids on it. The bomb strike reported that we had knocked out the bridge. We wont go back there again. |
