February 27, 1945
Mission: Leipzig, Germany We bombed at 27,000 feet to hit a coal and oil manufacturing industry. The temperature was 55 degrees. Flak was intense, but inaccurate. We suffered no hits or battle damage. Enemy fighter planes were reported in the vicinity, but we did not encounter them. We were airborne 9-1/2 hours and on oxygen 6 hours. The mission went well. |
