**Target** **Gelsenkirchen, Germany**
Target – Gelsenkirchen, Germany Date – August 26, 1944 Bomb load – 10 500 lb bombs, 2 incendiaries We hit a synthetic oil refinery. There was moderate flak, but we escaped the worst of it. The mission lasted about seven hours.
