Target – Ludwigshafen, Germany
Date – September 3, 1944

We bombed the I. G. Farben chemical works. The Germans sent up a terrific barrage of anti-aircraft fire over the target but we dropped the bombs and turned before reaching it. I don’t see how any one could have gotten through. The target was obscured by cloud and instruments had to be use.
