Target
Misburg, Germany

Target – Misburg, Germany
Date – November 26, 1944

We bombed an oil refinery near Hanover through intense flak. Most of the flak was 155 mm and there was plenty of it. Coming off the target I could see a wall of flak ten miles long. It didn’t seem possible a single ship could have gotten through it. We picked up four holes in our plane. We also expected heavy fighter opposition and fighters were reported over the target just before we reached the IP [Initial Point] but we didn’t encounter them. The squadron lost two ships.
