Date – December 18, 1944

We were to bomb the marshalling yards, but ran into dense contrails near the French - German border and after futily trying to get over and then under the fog, the mission was aborted. No bombs were dropped and the mission was not to count. On January 16, 1945 the order came through to count that flight as a combat mission.
