Speyer, Germany

Monday, January 8, 1945:

Fifteenth Mission, Speyer, 8 and 1/2 hours. Flak moderate and accurate. Hole in right life raft. No enemy fighters. No fighters of ours either. Only got 1 bomb out. Bomb doors frozen open. Ran low on gas. Landed in France. Spent a miserable 24 hours there. Came back and landed in Basingborne at night in a snowstorm. Sure glad to get back. Came over Channel at 800 ft. Flew deputy lead.
