T/Sgt. George W. Forsyth's Diary
Engineer/TT Gunner 602nd Squadron

Foryth's Mission No.
32

28 March 1945
Target:
Berlin, Germany

March 28, 1945

This morning they got us up at one-thirty. Boy my heart sank when they told us our target was Spandan, a süburg of Berlin. The flak over the target was moderate and accurate. We got flak about five times. We got three holes in our tail. The weather on takeoff was terrible and just the same when we got back. About twenty-minutes away from the field our number three engine just ups and quits, so we came in on three. On oxygen six hours.
