T/Sgt. Armand Fugge's Diary
Engineer/Top Turret Gunner 600th Squadron

Fugge Mission No.
14

13 June 1944
Target:
Airfield, Beauvais, France

June 13, 1944
We were awakened at 2330 and briefed for a mission to Bremen, Germany. It was scrubbed so we went back to the sack and slept ‘til 1400. We were called again to briefing at 1530 and our target was an airfield at Beauvais, France. Carried 18 – 250 lb. G.P. bombs. Take off was 1705. Flak was light and not too accurate. One shackle got screwed up and the bomb didn’t get away. We could feel the jolts as the other bombs hit it on their way out. We defused it and brought it home. Landed at 2305.

Got credit for our mission of May 6th.

MISSION # 14 COMPLETED.

Editor's Note: Since I was aware of this correction, May 6th was counted as Mission #1 so as not to confused the reader in the total count of missions. In the original diary, Armand showed his missions as one less until this entry.
