  10. Interpretive Comments: The 398th B-17 is in formationand on a training flight over England. The farmed fields with leaves on the trees suggest a timeframe of early summer 1944. Some of the men recall that this photo was taken shortly after delivery of the aircraft to the 398th, which was on 13 June 1944. Given that the tail hadn't been completely painted in 398th colors, the above photo was probably taken shortly after 13 June 1944.
