B-17s over Rapid City - Early Spring 1944

Below are Lt. Ed Jordan's photographs of B-17s flying near Rapid City in the Spring of 1944. Ed was the co-pilot for the Bob Hopkins crew.

In this grouping are a number of photos of B-17 flights in March 1944 near Rapid City. It is assumed the flights were mostly over and around Rapid City and possibly the Black Hills area. Snow can be seen on the ground in some photos. Numerous B-17s can be seen flying in formation in the distance in some photos.

These photos were obtained from the Edward C. Jordan 398th Photo CD. If you would like to add information about these photographs, please contact our Crew Photos Coordinator. Please mention the title and photograph date.
